Ora che le elezioni sono terminate, vi segnalo quella che per me è l’unico raggio di sole in Europa: il grande successo della lista verde “Europe Ecologie” di Daniel Cohn Bendit in Francia.
Pensate che ha preso il 27 per cento nella città di Parigi! Poco meno del presidente Sarkozy.
Ma la storia straordinaria è che Daniel ha cominciato a fare politica 41 anni fa, quando era ragazzo, studente universitario, anarchico, e si ritrovò ad essere il simbolo del maggio 1968. E non ha mai smesso. Lo conosco da allora e vi assicuro che è molto simpatico, semplice, libertario. Pensate che, essendo lui nato in Germania ed essendo ebreo, lo buttarono fuori dalla Francia all’inizio della rivolta del ’68 e che tornò clandestinamente in Francia per guidare i cortei che portavano i cartelli “siamo tutti ebrei tedeschi”. Pensate alla vittoria che ha avuto oggi. Da quaranta anni ha continuato a fare politica a modo suo: cosmopolita, per i diritti degli immigrati, contro il nucleare. E se fosse lui l’Obama europeo? Come mi piacerebbe che si trasferisse un po’ in Italia…
